Crowned 2014 – In an exciting finale of the 2014 Horseware/TRM Premier Series at Coilog, Greg Broderick claimed the crown of 2014 Premier Series champion and in doing so the 2014 ShowjumpingIreland National Champion title.

It has been an exceptional year for the 28 year old Thurles native, who made his SJI debut in 2001 at Young Rider level.Having notched up two National Grand Prix League titles, Gregā€™s plan and focus from the outset of the year was the Horseware/TRM Premier Series and the title of ShowjumpingIreland National Champion 2014.

Earlier in August the RDS was a happy hunting ground for Greg, who claimed a hat trick of wins in the young horse Championships with BP Castlefield in the four year olds, Albertaā€™s Mist in the five year olds and Super Chilled in the six year oldā€™s.

An impressive string of horses, MHS Going Global, Javaā€™s Keltic Mist, Golden Exchange and Rincarina all contributed points towards the Premier Series title win.Ā  With wins at Cork Summer Show and Tattersalls Summer Show as well as a second place at National Balmoral and a fourth at the final in Coilog MHS Going Global became the leading horse in the series.Ā  This Caledonia Stables owned 8 year old gelding is by Guidam Junior I out of Gowran Lady, a mare by Cavalier Royale.

Speaking at the presentation Greg said ā€œI am delighted itā€™s all come together, I had a great summer and itā€™s nice to top it all off with the ShowjumpingIreland National Champion title, thanks to the whole team at Ballypatrick and all my owners who help achieve days like todayā€

Chairman of ShowjumpingIreland, Tony Hurley said ā€œI am delighted to congratulate Greg on his achievements this year, he is a very worthy winner of the ShowjumpingIreland National Champion title and is a great ambassador for the sport.

MHS Going Global and Rincarina are getting ready this week for their trip to Arezzo, Greg is excited to have been chosen as member of the panel of five to represent Ireland and hopes that he has the opportunity to jump in the Nationā€™s Cup with MHS Going Global after an eye catching performance at the Dublin Horse Show to finish 4th in the International Dublin Stakes.

Noel Cawleyā€™s 10 year chestnut daughter of Cruising, Rincarina, recorded an impressive fourth Horseware/TRM National Grand Prix win on Saturday.Ā  This speed queen recorded a 3* win at Lummen in April and she also going to Arezzo, aimed at some of the speed classes.
