Janika Sprunger is one of Switzerland’s leading lady riders. Janika took up riding at age four and she got her national licence at age 12.
Janika has competed in five European Championships, finishing with Team Gold in Young Rider 2006 and 2008 events.
Janika was selected as part of the Swiss Nations Cup team in 2010 and launched her campaign with the team at the 5* Nations Cup in Rome. In 2011 Janika and her strong string of horses competed in the Global Champions Tour. Highlights of her career to date have been first places in CSI5* shows at Hertogenbosch (150m), Lyon (145m), Geneva (145m) and Paris, Grand Palais (145m) to name but a few.
In July 2015 at the Longines Falsterbo Grand Prix, Janika completed her career best to date when representing Switzerland aboard Bonne Chance Cw (Baloubet du Rouet x Cambridge), she delivered an amazing round to take home her first ever CSI***** Grand Prix win. Later that year she was part of the team to take home Team Bronze medal at the 2015 Europeans in Aachen, Germany.
With a horse she produced since a 6 year old, Bonne Chance, Janika and the then 10 year old mare, competed at the 2016 Summer Olympics in Rio de Janeiro, Brazil, where she finished 6th in the team and 37th in the individual competition.
