Handicap Chase – Philip Hobbs’ Royal Regatta was the winner of the TRM-Excellence In Equine Nutrition Handicap Chase at Doncaster on Saturday 24th Jan. This is the third year that TRM have sponsored on the Sky Bet Chase Raceday at Doncaster.

A winner from a decent type on his chasing debut, he was beaten as an even-money favourite last time out but travelled like a class act back on some decent ground at Doncaster. Richard Johnson looked over his shoulder at the second last and appeared to have everything cooked, but Runswick Royal began to stay on powerfully and it was getting tight in the last 100 yards. The 11/4 chance held off the 5/2 favourite by half a length.

TRM’s Tom Barrett was on hand to make the presentation to the winning owner and Philips Hobbs’ wife Sarah.
