GNF is a unique supplement, for daily feeding to horses
prone to gastric disturbances. GNF will assist in maintaining optimum
gut health and function, allowing maximum utilisation of feed. |

Fructo-oligosaccharides
(FOS)
are prebiotics that help to prime the existing, beneficial, gut bacteria (eg.
Bifidobacterium and Lactobacillus). They escape enzymatic digestion in the
upper gastro-intestinal tract to provide a food source for indigenous
beneficial flora. Glutamine is an amino acid, one
of its key functions is to nourish cells that line the stomach and
intestines. Threonine is an
‘essential’ amino acid.
Studies have shown that restriction of this nutrient may limit
intestinal mucin synthesis and reduce gut barrier function. |

Seaweed Extract is derived from
Laminaria Hyperborea, a brown seaweed harvested in cold Atlantic waters. It
is rich in amino acids and essential nutrients. In the presence of Calcium
Carbonate it forms a gel which can act as a physical barrier, minimising the
exposure of the nonglandular portion of the stomach to its acidic contents. Minerals: GNF
contains both Calcium and Magnesium two components which are key nutrients in
maintaining a healthy digestive system. Gastric
disturbances, are of concern to the trainers, breeders and owners of all
performance horses. One such disturbance, Equine Gastric Ulcer Syndrome
(EGUS) has become more prominent in recent years. Performance horses are at
exceptional risk, with up to 93% of racehorses and 60% of other performance
horses found to have ulcers on endoscopic examination. The reason for this
high prevelance of gastric ulcers can be attributed to: • Intermittent feeding It is
impractical to remove horses with EGUS from training and turn them out to
grass. Proper nutritional support is a vital component in ensuring that
valuable competition horses maintain a healthy digestive system in these
trying conditions. Feeding Instructions GNF should be added to the normal feed ration. All Horses: Feed 50g twice daily. Ponies and Foals: Feed 25g twice daily. Fresh drinking
water should be available at all times. Complementary
