A jubilant Oliver Townend completed one of eventing’s rarest doubles.

The TRM sponsored rider won Burghley Horse Trials with Carousel Quest and also the Badminton Horse Trials in May on Flint Curtis.  Both victories make him only the sixth rider to complete the double within 12 months.

Oliver and Carousal quest put in an impressive performance at Burghley in which they put in a faultless cross country round followed by a clear in the showjuming.  Oliver was the only one of the 80 starters to finish the three days on his original dressage score.

The double victory has now put Oliver in contention for the Rolex Grand Slam in Lexington Kentucky next May.
